Children are welcomed into our home and have access to the whole of the ground floor and our large enclosed garden.
I recognise that all children are unique and develop at different rates having their own interest. I offer a wide range of activities and play experiences tailored to each child's individual needs. I encourage children to become independent and explore their own ideas. The advantage of a child-minding setting is that we can be spontaneous; we can arrange our day according to the weather or to pursue a child's interest or to visit an event in the local community.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which is a play based framework used by early years practitioners to ensure that children are developing and learning to their full potential.
"The EYFS sets the standards of Learning, development and care of all children from birth to 5 years old" Full details can be found at www.foundationyears.org.uk
These are some of the activities your child will have the opportunity to take part in
I promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle and aim to provide a varied and nutritious diet. All meals are freshly prepared and cooked by myself using vegetables from a local organic farm. Any dietary requirements or allergies your child may have will be taken into consideration and recipes adjusted accordingly.
A choice of fruit is available at snack time.
Children are involved in baking healthy treats both for the setting and to take home to share with their families.
